Project Description

London Jews in the First World War

Social history website

We Were There Too, funded by the National Heritage Lottery and created in partnership with the London Jewish Cultural Centre, is a social history preservation website documenting the contribution of London Jews in the First World War. The website has three main focusses; preservation, education, and remembrance. We branded and designed the site, defining the various user journeys and developing a range of functions to enable visitors to contribute their story to the community, learn about historical events, and to remember and honour those who contributed to the war effort. An interactive map, timeline, personal record builder, and memorial wall (a digital Yahrzeit) were all part of the bespoke design. Working alongside the London Grid for Learning we also configured a ‘school-friendly’ version of the site that will be used within the curriculum throughout various schools.

We also designed their supporting print collateral, including stationery, leaflets, adverts and pull up banners.
